Hello! My name is Dmitrii Kislin. I am a Senior Quantitative developer with more than 10 years of experience in quantitative and programming areas.
This site is a reflection of my thoughts or views on things that I have learned, am learning, and will learn in the future. Most of the information is and will be given in a short form, essentially being a reference guide.
I hope you will find something useful for yourself if you are a programming enthusiast and eager to learn more just like me.
¶One tool for everything!
My work, my hobbies, my other routine stuff are closely interconnected because I use the same tool for almost every task I can accomplish using computer. And although I am an adept of KISS idiom when coding stuff I do not prolong it to some extent to my life. Many years ago, I opened for myself the EMACS editor. Since then, I cannot go back and live without it. Even this website has been written and published entirely using emacs and many of its packages:
Emacs is awesome! It has a complex learning curve, unfortunately. There is a joke about its huge extensibility and bad UX out of the box:
“Emacs is a fine operating system in need of a good editor.”
You can turn it into a good editor. On this website, we will dive into some of such aspects someday.
